We are seeking to hire a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our small animal practice. We are a full-service hospital. We see a wide variety of cases from scheduled to walk-in appointments, and emergencies which can create a fast-paced environment.

As an Assistant the successful candidate's primary role will be to assist the Veterinarian. To do so the candidate need to be able to do the following:

· Assess and triage which patients need to be seen first.

· Take a patient's weight and other vital signs.

· Provide safe and proper patient restraint during examinations and procedures.

· Prepare instruments and medications.

· Stock areas and clean kennels and public areas throughout the evening.

· Clean surgical laundry, instruments, and prepare surgical packs as needed.

· Clean, fold, and stock kennel laundry throughout the evening.

· Answer the phones

· Other duties as assigned

This is a "hands on" position that requires the successful candidate to have the ability to multitask, be efficient in a busy and noisy environment, communicate well with others and be flexible as well as willing to learn new tasks. This positions shift is for 9-C Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 7:30-C.
